Arguing the Issue of Marijuana Legalization
Arguing the Issue of Marijuana LegalizationThe legality of marijuana is something that has always been controversial, and marijuana legalization is no different. However, while some argue for and against legalization, there are those who have a more positive viewpoint towards the change, and these topics are referred to as argumentative essay topics.Arguing the topic of legalization is not easy, and many arguments have been made both for and against legalizing marijuana. One of the most common arguments is that marijuana is addictive, as people will begin to use it after they get used to its effects. Another argument is that it will destroy our social structure, and if people are allowed to smoke and use marijuana, they will do so at work, and then go home and smoke or do cocaine at the same time. Those who believe in legalization argue that legalizing it will allow the criminal justice system to clean up, by allowing all users to go to prison for a short period of time, and then they can't be prosecuted anymore. However, they may face a misdemeanor charge, so they might be put on probation, or they may have to pay a fine. Some argue that marijuana is a gateway drug, that people who smoke and use it before they go on to more serious drugs, and they might turn into hardened criminals. This would imply that marijuana legalization would lead to increased crime rates, which would be bad news for the country.Supporters of legalization argue that legalizing marijuana will allow a safer alternative for people who use it to make money, and as a result, will protect their jobs. They also argue that there are other drugs available, such as heroin, that are more dangerous than marijuana, and they believe that it would not be worth putting lives at risk by allowing people to smoke and use marijuana at work. Finally, proponents of legalization will argue that legalization will open up new avenues for jobs, and as more companies grow in the United States, this will allow more people to have better jobs, and this will lead to more jobs. There are several arguments, but most of them are arguments against legalization, and the topic of argumentative essay topics can be challenging, especially when there are no clear cut answers. There is always a moral to the argument, and each person must decide what he believes and what he feels about the subject.Everyone must decide for themselves whether or not it is OK to use drugs, and if marijuana should be legalized.
